Church History

Words of Life began in the living room of Pastors Stan and Geri Moore as they began to pray for God's direction in their lives. Pastor Stan left his job as high school teacher and coach only one year from retirement in obedience to God's call upon his life. Pastor Geri left her job as an interior designer to honor her Heavenly Father and her husband. They began to hold Bible studies in their home and to share God's principles with others who came to them with problems, issues, and questions. It was then that they knew in their hearts they were called to bring this teaching of faith to South Florida.

After being ordained by a minister from Kenneth Hagin's Rhema Bible Training Center in 1980, Pastor Stan and Pastor Geri traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend the school in 1981.

After finishing their courses at Rhema in 1982, the family returned home to Miami and began the work God called them to do. Once again they held services in their living room and Words of Life officially began.

When they outgrew the living room, they rented the auditorium at a local junior high where setting up and taking down for each service was quite a job. Pastors Stan and Geri located an abandoned television production studio, and they knew this was to be the home for Words of Life Fellowship Church.

It looked hopeless from a natural standpoint for a congregation of 30 to 40 people to take over such a large building along I - 95. "We were told many times that it was impossible. From the day we moved in, we have never seen an unpaid bill or lack in this ministry. "With our confidence in Him, we always win", says Pastor Stan.

Words of Life is still growing. Come grow with us.
